Perched on a spur of volcanic rock, sheer on three sides, stands the ancient town of Pitigliano with its perfectly preserved mediaeval town-centre. "La Doganella" is an area of 7 hectares, partly with vineyards.
It consists of 2 properties. One "Casa Rosa" is an old 13th century, completely renovated tower, keeping its original characteristics with baked clay floors, the english windows and arched ceilings.
The other "Casale Antico" which dates from the 19th century, has been equally renovated and has kept its original style with ceilings with exposed beams, the earthenware tiling in the bathroom and outside walls of the era, witness to a remarkable past.
